The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad celebrated Vesak on May 4 at the International Buddhist Centre in Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad with the participation of Ambassadors, High Commissioners and their family members of all Buddhist countries resident in Islamabad and the Sri Lankan community living in Islamabad and the suburbs.
There was a Buddha pooja and chanting of pirith by the devotees. The International Buddhist Centre were colourfully decorated and illuminated with Buddhist flags, Vesak lanterns and oil lamps by the staff of the High Commission and their family members.
