The number of HIV positive persons in SXri Lanka is on the rise, revealed the Health and Indigenous Medicine Ministry sources. According to statistics available, Sri Lanka has 75 children under the age of 15 with HIV/AIDS, .
According to the sources, the total number of HIV/AIDS victims in the country is 3,000.
The majority of the infected persons are males. Last year, 22,059 attended STD clinics set up countrywide by the Health and Indigenous Medicine Ministry. Of this, 12,434 were males and 9,625 females, the sources added.
