The limited edition note issued for the International Association of Millionaires in 1988, was detected following a tip off received by the Special Police Unit. The Police apprehended two suspects who were going to sell it to a person in Anuradhapura. It had been revealed that he suspects who are residents of Vavuniya have secured this one million US Dollar note for 100,000 rupees.

The Police are conducting further investigation in this regard.
