Under the influence of Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ, the area where the Northern and Southern hemispheric winds meet), the possibility for rain and lightning activities over the country still persists.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at most parts of the island during the afternoon and night.
Heavy rain falls (more than 100 mm) are also expected at some places.
There will be showers at several places in the coastal area of the island, during the morning too.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. The Met Dept. requests general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
