Local Councils will be dissolved on the 15th of May and for the first time the polls will be held under the electoral system, Minister of Health Rajitha Senarahna said at the opening of a Community Hall and the Seva Piyasa at Ambepitiya in Beruwala.
The Minister addressing the event said that Local bodies will be dissolved on May 15. Thereafter nominations will be entertained. It should be noted that the polls will be held for the first time on electoral basis thus paving the way to select educated candidates.
