The Met Dept. says thundershowers will develop at several places inland during the afternoon and will spread to the coastal area extending from Katunayake to Matara via Galle later.
Showers will occur in the coastal area extending from Colombo to Pottuvil via Galle and Hambantota during the morning too.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers., says the Met Dept.
General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
