The CAA has received a number of public complaints regarding traders who have sold substandard Buddhist flags and Atapirikara at various places across the country.

According to CAA Media Spokesman Udayajeewa Ekanayake, CAA will continue to raid shops which sell Buddhist flags, Vesak decorations and Atapirikara that fail to conform to standards during the Vesak festival throughout the island.

He emphasized that Atapirikara, Buddhist flags and Vesak decorations should not become yet another trade item in the market, and they should be treated with due reverence.

Meanwhile, the CAA and Sri Lanka Standards Institute have been instructed to stipulate new quality standards in the production and sale of Atapirikara.
