    Stock of Dates unsuitable for consumption destroyed

    A stock of 20,000 kilograms of dates unsuitable for consumption has been destroyed.

    The Public Health Inspectors took action to bury these dates in the Ambagaswewa area in Medirigiriya. It had been found that these dates had been stocked to be sold during the New Year festive season.

     

    The Public Health Inspectors, before burying them had submitted these stocks to the Government Analyst for further examination. According to the report submitted by the Government Analyst to the Magistrate on the unsuitability for human consumption, the initiative to destroy them had been taken.
