    Rupavahini State Awards Ceremony on April 07

    The Rupavahini State Awards Ceremony -2014 organized for the 11th time by the Department of Cultural Affairs on the instruction of the State Ministry of Cultural Affairs is to be held on 07th April 2015 at 6.00 p.m. at the BMICH under the distinguished patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena with the participation of former President Mrs.Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga. The objective of the festival is to give due accolade to the tele artistes and for the qualitative development of the field of television art.

    This is the only festival held to give state honors to tele-artistes who have showcased excellent skills in the field.

     

    Awards will be presented to 33 artistes who have excelled in this field during the year 2013. The best teledrama, single episode teledrama, best actor, actress, direction, news reader, news reporting, musical programme and magazine programme, will be given awards for excellence.

     

    The 8th volume of “Rupavahini Sameeksha” will also be launched at this occasion.

     

    The best creations were selected by a proficient panel of Judges from among the creations telecast until 31st of December 2013.

     

    Mr. Nandimitra Ekanayake State Minister of Cultural Affairs will also participate with several other distinguished guests.
