The Criminal Investigation Department on Tuesday (March 31) arrested three naval personnel including two officers over the killing of Jaffna District TNA parliamentarian Nadarajah Raviraj on November 10, 2006 and they are now being questioned on a detention order.
This brutal killing of TNA parliamentarian took place a day after he led a protest opposite the UN office against the alleged death of 45 civilians in Vakarai due to bombings. Two person on a motorbike shot at him while he was leaving his home. His bodyt guard Lakshman Lokuwella also died in the shooting.
The Police said that more Navy personnel who were allegedly involved in the killing of the parliamentarian are to be arrested in due course.
