The Department said this has been confirmed in a latest survey. According to this survey, Sri Lanka IT literacy has increased by nine percent.

Director General of the Department of Census and Statistics Amara Satharasinghe mentioned that by now Sri Lanka’s Information Technology literacy has risen to 25.1 percent.

Such a survey was conducted in the year 2006. The Department said that Sri Lanka’s IT literacy index during that year was 16 percent.
