High Commissioner Mr. Ansar speaking at the event said, “this is a great opportunity for the group to explore and experience the real nature of Sri Lanka and its people”. Further he added, Malaysia was the biggest investor with US$ 1.5 billion FDI, mostly in telecommunication sector. The tour will give an opportunity to explore business opportunities in oil and gas, herbal products, steel recycling, agricultural and electrical engineering sectors. The riders during their stay in Colombo will meet officials of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Sri Lanka Board of Investment.
The tour organiser Mr. Tilak Leslie, Managing Director of Buzzworld Sdn Bhd stated that the riders will visit three UNESCO heritage sites namely ancient city of Anuradhapura, Sigiriya and sacred city of Kandy. He added that the Buzzworld is planning another tour in June this year with increased number of riders.
The Sri Lanka Malaysia Friendship Ride 2015 organised with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka Customs, Sri Lanka Police and the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur.
