Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana addressing the media on Monday (02) said that during the last year 127 crimes had been committed by persons wearing face covered helmets out of which 124 had been related to robberies. Therefore the ban would help mitigate the number of crimes, he added.
The Police Spokesman further said that the violators will be imposed a fine ranging from Rs. 1,000 -3,500 and the drivers' license will also be suspended if caught.
