The Ministry of Education has issued a fresh circular restricting admission of children to National schools from Grades 2 to 5. , Education Ministry Secretary, Upali Marasinghe said. that, this was in view of appeals by parents regarding admissions to these Grades and also to minimise irregularities.
Mr Marasinghe said that they have received information that, currently, students are being admitted to these Grades. He reiterated that in the event there are complaints that students are being admitted to these Grades, after this new circular, action will be initiated against those respective principals.
He pointed out that only the Education Ministry Secretary is authorized to permit admission to these Grades.Therefore there will be no political interferences for such admissions.
