The National Hospital’s Out Patient Department (OPD) services which had been functioning till 8.00 p.m. would be open till 10.00 p.m. from Feb. 15, its Director Dr. Anil Jasinghe said.
Many office workers who were residing in the Colombo city had been visiting the NHSL OPD in the night as they were unable to get medical attention during the day time. The office workers would have enough time to seek medical attention until 10.00 p.m. when the new time would go into effect, director said.
The minister of Finance in his interim budget had proposed to keep the OPD services of the Government hospitals opened round the clock.
