The batch includes 11 Tamil recruits from Kilinochchi. The recruits who had completed basic training in their respective trades as storemen, clerks, drivers etc were also given language training as a measure to promote reconciliation and co-existence.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division Major General G R H Dias.

A large gathering was present to witness the Passing Out ceremony where drill displays, unarmed combat demonstrations and Tamil cultural items were performed. The recruits were also presented with gift packs by the officers and soldiers serving in the region. (KH)
