    PM requests UNP Ministers, MPs to fulfill their tasks without frauds and irregularities Featured

    Prime Minister (PM) Ranil Wickremesinghe presiding over his first meeting with the newly appointed Ministers, State Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the United National Party (UNP) on Friday afternoon, expressed the message of the requirement to start work immediately, to achieve the targets set under the 100-Day Programme. He also explained as to why they should avoid being extravagant while in office, and said their security details too should be limited.

    He emphasized on the importance of prioritizing the work to be done in the first 100 days and carrying out the programmes without frauds and irregularities following which they will have to go before the people for a mandate at the Parliamentary Election.

     

    The PM said Temple trees would be used only as the official secretariat, while he would not reside there. The PM also invited a group of UNP members accompanied by media personnel to take a tour of the premises, to witness the extravagant lifestyle of the previous occupants of Temple Trees.

     

    Those who attended the meeting were advised to be clad either in lounge or national dress.
