All government, semi-government and private schools will be closed on Wednesday (07), Thursday (08) and Friday (09) for the Presidential election.
The Education Ministry said that schools which commenced their new academic year on January 5 as well as the schools where GCE Ordinary Level Examination paper marking is being carried out will re-open on January 12.
Also, 48 schools which will accommodate police officers scheduled to provide security during the visit of Pope Francis will be closed from January 11 to 15. The schools will re-open on January 16.
