    New variety of aromatic paddy introduced

    The Amblantota Paddy Research Institute has introduced a variety of aromatic paddy called A.T.306 . The new variety withstood against falling of paddy plants and pests.

    The Agricultural Department with the introduction of this new variety of paddy, foreign exchange can be saved as Sri Lanka imports a large amount of aromatic rice.

     

    A.T.306 has been recommended for all paddy cultivating areas in Sri Lanka. Its yielding period is three months.
