Minor export crop cultivations especially pepper and clove cultivations in the Matale district have been affected due to heavy rain experienced during the past two months.
Minor export crop cultivations are carried out in around 20,000 acres in the district while over 10,000 cultivators are engaged in this field.
Blight has destroyed clove trees while pepper pods are also decaying due to the rain.
Cultivators said the anticipated harvest of minor export crops could not be reaped this season.
