The Department of Prisons has taken steps to build a training school for the officers of the Department of prisons at the Kotawilawatta exhibition premises in parallel to the Deyata Kirula National Exhibition and Development Program 2015.
The training center which already exists in Colombo prison complex will be closed down under the program of shifting the prison complex. Therefore the necessity of constructing another training center instead of that has arisen.
Only one building of this training center is proposed to be constructed immediately before the Deyata Kirula 2015 exhibition. Hence, State Engineering Corporation has submitted an estimate to the value of Rs.37.338 million for the purpose. (ST/KH)
