Accordingly, Initial plans have been prepared by now pertaining to the Performing Arts Theater proposed to be constructed in Anuradnapura by President Mahinda Rajapaksa .

According to the Ministry, it had been decided initially to obtain foreign aid for constructing this Performing Arts Theatre, later the situation changed and the agreement of the Treasury has been received to carry out the construction works using local funding. The allocations necessary for this are scheduled to be provided within the 2015-17 medium term Budgetary Framework.
