Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprises Douglas Devananda attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. At the same time, 1000 coconut plants were distributed among schoolchildren to encourage them to contribute to the national economy. Meanwhile, 500 teak plants, 500 cashew plants, 500 margosa and 500 banana plants were also given to farming families.

Beneficiaries were selected from the areas of 51, 52 and 55 Divisions. Donations were arranged on guidance of Commander SF-J Major General Udaya Perera
