    Technical Assistance of Euro 6 mn from Germany

    The German Government has agreed to provide technical assistance of Euro 6 million to implement the two projects for the establishment of a Vocational Training Centre in the Northern Province and SME Sector Development in Sri Lanka.

    Out of the Euro 6 million of technical assistance, Euro 4 million will be provided to strengthen the resources of the laboratories and mobile training under the ongoing VT North Project. Balance technical assistance of Euro 2 million will be provided for the SME Sector Development project for the purpose of inclusive and eco-friendly SME development by providing advisory and technological assistance.

     

    The above two projects will be implemented with the assistance of the Colombo Office of the German International Cooperation (GIZ) and separate Implementation Agreements will be signed between the GIZ and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development in connection with the VT North Project and between the GIZ and the Department of Development Finance of the Ministry of Finance and Planning in relation to the SME Sector Development Project.
