A few electricity projects that were targeted to cover remote villages that did not have any electricity, in the electorates of Kalawana and Rakwana in Rathnapura District were vested in the public recently by the Minister of Power and Energy , Pavithra Wanniarachchi.
Under this scheme, three electricity projects in Keppetipolawatte of the Kalawana Electorate and Elamalpe electricity project in the Rakwana Electorate, were vested in the public by Minister of Power and Energy PavithraWanniarachchi.
The Government has spent Rs.63 million on these electricity schemes which supplies electricity to around 500 families.
Ratnapura District Parliamentarian Janaka Wakkumbura were present on the occasion.
