The Ministry of Education has finalized arrangements to grant uniforms for next year to around four million students in 10,012 schools countrywide. The expenditure incurred by the Government for this exercise is 2,383 million rupees and the the expenditure incurredfor additional uniforms and footwear is 508 million rupees.
The material has been purchased from local producers. The number of textile kits slated to be distributed is 6.8 million. The distribution process was launched at the Orugodawatte Food Department Warehouse complex under the auspices of Minister Duminda Dissanayake.
