Sri Lanka will issue a US$ 500 million international sovereign bond next year to roll over a maturing bond issued in 2009, a top central bank official has told Reuters on Monday.
"There will be a sovereign bond issue next year. There is a bond maturing next year and we have to roll out," Deputy Central Bank Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe has told Reuters at a post-budget forum in Colombo.
Sri Lanka issued a US$ 500 million sovereign bond at 5.125% in April and a US$ 1 billion international sovereign bond at 6.00% in January this year.(PRIU/KH)
