Parallel to the 2015 Deyata Kirula national development program, the Economic Development Ministry has allocated Rs. 7,525 million for development activities in the Galle, Matara, Hambantota and Ratnapura districts and funds will be allocated for development activities covering all divisional secretariats at these four districts.
Livelihood and economic development projects will receive priority when funds are allocated for these activities, according to the ministry.
Funds can also be used for the provision of infrastructure facilities such as drinking water supply, rural road development and construction of weekly fairs and community centres.
