Major General (Retd) Nanda Mallawaarachchi, who was appointed as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Sports, assumed duties on Friday (24).
Mallawaarachchi was the first Secretary of the Ministry of Law and Order, which was established in August 2013 under the President, and was replaced by former IGP Mahinda Balasuriya on Tuesday (Oct. 21).
Major General Nanda Mallawaarachchi replaced the former secretary of the Ministry Anura Jayawickrama.
Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Senior Officials of Sports Ministry were also present at the occasion. (KH)
