Presently 40 percent of electricity provision is provided to the island at present and commissioning of the New project by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on October 14, 100 percent electricity supply will be empowered to the community of the Island. 

Minister of Power and Energy Pavithra Wanniarachi and Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development, Douglas Devananda will also take part in this function.

This electricity project will be worked on to provide electricity supply to 1,082 families by covering the Eastern, Western and Central areas of the Delft Islands. The cost of this project is Rs. 60 million. (SDF/KH)
