The Private Transport Ministry has taken steps to launch a project at a cost of Rs. 600 million to develop bus terminals across the country. The project has been implemented under the direction of Private Transport Minister C.B. Ratnayake.
According ro the Ministry, construction work on the Lunuwatta and Medagama bus terminals will commence this year. In addition, renovation work on the Rikillagaskada, Walapane and Hanguranketha bus terminals in the Central province will also begin this year.
Plans are afoot to develop the Hingurakgoda, Tangalle, Pitabeddara, Pasgoda, Hakmana and Raththota bus terminals, the Ministry added.
