Raveendra Kumara said a spot check was carried out jointly by the Disaster Management Center, Army Personnel and the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) and had cleared the road of earth and boulders fallen and also removed dangerous boulders.

Badulla DMC also cautioned the people of possible earth-slips and said the frequent falling of boulders has made it difficult to clear the road.The Ella-Wellawaya Road was closed late last week following earth slips and falling boulders in certain places.
