In keeping with the Mahinda Chintana Future Vision where it is envisaged that every family should have a house with all facilities including healthy lavatories, the Ministry of Water Supply and Drainage has taken steps to provide healthy sanitary facilities to 4,660 families in the Colombo district. The project will complete this year.
The project costing Rs. 858 million was ceremonially inaugurated at Mawathagama, Puwakpitiya and Kahahena in the Awissawella electorate recently. Rs. 3,600,000 will be utilized to benefit 200 low income families.
It was arranged to utilize Rs. 258 million to benefit 2,548 families at the first phase of the project. (ST/KH)
