Sri Lanka Army troops rendered assistance to restore operations in the main upcountry railway line which had been restricted after an earth slip between Bandarawela and Badulla stations.
According to Army media, a group of Army personnel had offered assistance to clear the line of earth and rocks that had fallen on the tracks near the Kinigama Railway Station on Tuesday morning (06).
Troops together with railway employees cleared the track for trains services to resume which had been restricted up to Bandarawela. Inclement weather conditions in the hill country had caused minor earth slips in several parts of the country.
