Sri Lanka Army troops in Wanni vested on the public a new Pre-School building after completing the construction work in Mahakachchikodiya, last week. (20 October). This building is the 6th in line of such Pre-School buildings constructed under a project mooted by the troops in the region with support from government and private sector entities.
Already troops have succeeded in constructing five such buildings during the past ten months as a measure to assist backward communities in remote areas. The new building was built at a cost of Rs. 2.3 million rupees provided by private philanthropists. It also includes a playground, sanitary facilities, a spacious hall and other facilities.
Senior Army officers, state officials, donors and area residents were present at the handing over ceremony.
