During the same period the CEB raid unit carrying out raids throughout the country had prosecuted 1,670 persons, Out of which 979 for tempering with the electricity meters and the other 691 persons for pirating electricity. (ST/KH)

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has earned Rs. 90 million in fines and penalties from power pirates during the first six months of the year.
