Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara districts today.

Fairly heavy falls above 75 mm can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kaluthara District, and above 50mm can be expected at some places in Kurunegala District.

Light showers will occur in Anuradhapura, Mannar and Hambantota districts.

Fairly strong gusty winds up to 50 kmph can be expected over the island particularly, in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western, North-central and Uva provinces.

Marine Weather

There is still a high possibility for the wind speed over the Western, Southern and southeastern sea areas to increase to some extent.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.

Winds will be south-westerly in direction and wind speed will be 30-40 kmph.

The sea areas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Puttalam, Galle and Hambantota can be rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-65 kmph at times.

Other sea areas can be fairly rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 50-55 kmph at times.
