Sri Lanka Army troops in the Eastern region offered assistance to a distribution of dry rations among the poor community in Batticaloa recently. According to Army media, over 7000 dry ration packs were distributed among needy Muslim and Tamil people in Batticaloa recently.
The benevolent initiative was taken with assistance of the M. C. A Hameed Hajiar Trust in Arayampathi which had sponsored the dry ration packs for distribution among the poor in view of the Ramazan festival.
The distribution ceremony was graced by the Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Santhusitha Pananwala
