According to the Examinations Chief 234,197 school candidates and 62,116 private candidates totaling 296,313 candidates are expected to sit for the examination.
A special examination centre has been established for the prisoners at the Kalutara prison and two other special centres for the visually impaired in Tangalle and Ratmalana.
Meetings, rallies, cultural shows or any other functions using loudspeakers were completely prohibited around examination centres.
