Several spells of showers will occur in Central and North-Western provinces and in Colombo and Gampaha districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern and Uva provinces after 02.00 p.m.
Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
Marine Weather
Several spells of showers will occur in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle.
Winds will be south-westerly in direction in the sea areas around the island and wind speed will be 30-40 kmph.
Wind speed can increase up to 50-55 kmph at times in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Kankasanturai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil. These sea areas can be fairly rough at times.
