Showery condition over the island, particularly in the Northern, North-Central and Eastern provinces is expected to enhance to a certain extent today (26th Dec.), the Met. Department said.
Showers will occur at times in the Northern, Eastern, North-central and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district while showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy falls upto 75mm can be expected in the Eastern province and in the Nuwara-Eliya, Ratnapura, Galle and Matara districts.
Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
