The low level atmospheric disturbance still persists over Sri Lanka; therefore cloudy skies and showery condition are expected, Met. Department said.
Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island.
Heavy falls (above100 mm) within 24hrs can be expected at some places, particularly in Northern, North-central and Uva provinces.
Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
