Showers or thundershowers will occur at times over most parts of the island and the possibility for very heavy showers is high in the hilly areas.

Very heavy falls (above 150mm) within 24hrs can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-western, Uva, Northern and North-Central provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts.

Heavy falls (above100 mm) within 24hrs can be expected at some places elsewhere.

Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
