He stated this addressing a ceremony held to open a new MoH Office built by the Global Fund (GF) in Maradankarni, Jaffna at a cost of Rs. 27 million. Sri Lanka Army assisted in the construction of the MoH office. 

The minister said that all political parties have got together to find solutions to the problems through a new Constitution. Everyone should come together to improve the living condition of the people in the North. When everyone feels the equality, there is no need of a war; he said adding that it is the North, which has been allocated the second highest amount of funds for the health sector.  

He said last year Rs.5 billion was allocated for Provincial health institutions, but by July this year it was about Rs. 33 billion.
