Under the program, 43 families in Matara District, 5 families in Hambantota District, and 4 families in Galle District were granted Rs. 1.3 million.

A special program to provide financial assistance for the families of deceased due to the recent floods in the Southern Province was held recently in Matara under the patronage of Chief Minister Shan Wijeyalal De Silva.
