The Nila Mehewara program is organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

During the program laptop computers were distributed among 30 Additional District Registrars, 500 spectacles were granted to beneficiaries, 39 food cards were granted for pregnant mothers, and livelihood equipment, wheel chairs and crutches were distributed.

Governor of North-Western Province Mrs. Amara Piyasili Rathnayake, Badulla District MP Chaminda Wijesiri, Opposition Leader of North Western Provincial Council Prasanna Shamal Senarath, President Director General Shantha Bandara, Ministry Secretary Neil de Alwis, District Secretary G. Illangarathne, and Divisional Secretary of Narammala S.M. Peththawadu were also present.
