Bilateral Foreign Office Consultations with Belarus concludes successfully in Colombo

The second round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between Sri Lanka and Belarus was held on the sidelines of the 1stsession of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation on 10th July 2014, at the Ministry of External Affairs in Colombo.

The Foreign Office Consultations were co-chaired by Mrs. C. Wagiswara, Additional Secretary (Economic Affairs, East Asia and Pacific) of the Ministry of External Affairs and Hon. Valentin B. Rybakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus. In addition to officials of the Ministry of External Affairs, senior officials from the Ministry of Defence & Urban Development, Ministry of Culture & the Arts, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Mass Media & Information and the Department of Commerce also participated in the discussions.

The two sides discussed a wide range of issues relating to strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and the educational fields. The next round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC)will be held in Belarus in 2015.(KH/SI)
