Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in most provinces of the island today (9th May) after 2.00p.m.
Light showers can be expected in the coastal areas extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle, during the morning too.
Fairly heavy falls (about 50mm) can be expected at some places particularly in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, North-central, Uva, and Southern provinces.
