The ship ‘Sayuru’ was recreated as a floating restaurant to provide recreational services to the public and it was opened at the Dickowita harbor by the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Mahinda Amaraweera recently.
The ship provides facilities for a group of thirty people to enjoy a tour of the sea. In addition, weddings and birthday parties can also be held onboard. The Ship can be booked at a nominal cost.
The ship’s staff is ready to prepare any dish requested by the customers and the priority will be given to sea food items. Promotion of recreational tours on the sea along with Sri Lankan sea food dishes among local and foreign tourists is the prime objective of this initiative.
