Showers or thundershowers will occur at most provinces of the island today (12th April) after 2.00 p.m. Showers may occur in the Eastern, Western and Southern Provinces during the morning too.

Heavy falls (about 100 mm) can be expected at some places particularly in the Western, North-western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and North-central provinces.

Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.

Meanwhile, today the Sun will be directly over Tandikulam, Periyakaddu, Madukanda, Talgahawewa, Pangurugaswewa and Kumburupddi at about 12:11 noon.
